01 / THE STORY

Meet Owen.
The reason behind our mission.

In February 2018, at just 15 months old, Owen was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

After finding Owen struggling to breathe, our family rushed him to the emergency room. He was in diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a life-threatening complication. Following his time in the pediatric ICU, we came home to a new reality: managing the insulin his body could no longer produce.

There are no days off from Type 1 diabetes. Through blood sugar checks, insulin, carb counting, and sleepless nights, Owen has shown us what courage really looks like.

05 / CAMP SPONSORSHIPS

Every child deserves
a place to belong.

Owen's Heroes has helped sponsor children and teens to attend diabetes camps across Florida. These experiences combine summer camp fun with diabetes education, confidence-building, and friendships with others who understand life with T1D.

Families interested in sponsorship can contact us with their child's story, contact information, and preferred camp session. Sponsorships depend on available funding.
