T1D SUmmer camp sponsorship

We are extremely excited to once again sponsor 5 families to attend a "Florida Diabetes Summer Camp" this 2024 Summer!  There are several dates to choose from depending on your child's age. 

Our Owen's Heroes Lacrosse Tournaments and events have continued to raise money thanks to the amazing families, friends,  coaches, and players.  Last summer, our charity sponsored several kids that attended both the youth and teen camps across Florida.  Our very own Owen also attended with a few friends!

Florida Diabetes Camp is much more than just “camp.”  In addition to the usual recreational activities associated with camping, scheduled diabetes education sessions are conducted by pediatric endocrinologists and diabetes educators at all programs. Caring individuals provide motivation and support for the children to learn self-care, independence in diabetes management and good self-esteem.   

To apply for sponsorship, please e-mail the below address. Be sure to include your contact information, which camp date you would like to attend, and a brief background story of your T1D child. Because we are limited to FIVE sponsorships, please send your request at your earliest convenience.

Once we receive your information, someone from the Owen's Heroes charity will contact you to confirm your information.  If you are receiving a sponsorship, our charity will connect with the camp and ensure your tuition is covered.
